Phase II Construction Underway!

The renovation of the existing library space is underway! Walls are down, windows are in and sheetrock is up in the new study area.  The newly completed Community Room and Cafe are serving as the temporary circulation area, and the exciting new Family Center is coming to life with new shelves, computers and a fun new design to provide families a fun place to gather and enjoy everything the library has to offer.

Starting December 5th we will be open for these limited hours & services until further notice:

Monday/Wednesday/Thursday    4 – 7 PM

Tuesday/Friday/Saturday            10 – 1 PM

Yes you can place orders here or online and pick things up at this library during these hours.

Yes you can still get great staff help with questions.

Yes you can use the copy machine.

Yes please drop off Toys-4-Tots & Food Pantry items.

No library materials will be here to browse/borrow.

No public computers will be here during this time.

Book drops are still open during off hours.

Patterson Library Park Dedication

 

The beautiful new gazebo at the Patterson Library Park

The Patterson Library Park Dedication ceremony was a wonderful event with more than 100 people in attendance.  Everyone enjoyed the Caribbean sounds of John Arrucci playing the steel drum, while kids picked pumpkins and had their faces painted.  Thanks to everyone for coming and making it a truly special day.

CONSTRUCTION NEWS

Construction has started! Board President Patty Atkinson and Library Director Patti Haar get the demolition started with a big swing!  Working together with Architect Jim Lothrop and Meyer Contracting Corporation, a beautiful, cost effective design will transform the former Patterson Court and existing space into a wonderful place for the community to gather. New Community Room & Cafe, new Family Center, more public computers and comfortable quiet zones will all be part of the new design.

Museum Passes

Pay No Admission at Great Area Museums

Mid-Hudson Library System card holders can borrow a museum pass and pay no admission at 6 great area museums. Six guests will save up to $144 dollars at the Intrepid where you can spend an exciting day exploring the Air, Sea & Space Museum, or see the life size T-Rex at the American Museum of Natural History and save up to $80 for a family of 4. Save more money at the Paley Center for Media where you can watch episodes of your favorite childhood sitcoms or catch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan as you browse the historic archives of radio and television. For art lovers, we have passes to the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill or to the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in the quaint town of Ridgefield, Connecticut.
