Remembering Jason Lieberman

We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and Patterson Library Trustee, Jason Lieberman.  Together with his wife Adrienne, Jason served on our board since June 2004. During that time, Jason brought forward his experience in facilities management. He served as Chair of the Facilities Committee, Chair of the Bylaws & Policy Committee, and Chair of the Building Committee during the 2011-2012 library renovation.  Jason was a man who was true to himself and his beliefs. He will be sorely missed by the library Board of Trustees and staff.

The Lieberman family has generously started a drive to support the library in Jason Lieberman’s memory. If interested, you can read more about this at: https://www.gofundme.com/JHL-library

Donations also accepted by check payable to Patterson Library, or click on the Donate icon on this web page.

Patterson Library Friends Donate New Scanner & More

Thanks to the Patterson Library Friends, the library now has a state of the art public scanner. The scanner is one of several gifts donated to the library by the Friends group, which aims to support library services and programs through fundraising efforts. With a very successful first year of fundraising events that included the book sale and holiday ornament sale, the Friends were able to purchase new iPads for the Family Center, a brand new book drop at the Putnam Lake Market, and provide funding for the museum pass program as well as pay for enhancements to the community room. eBooks for Kids!

The library has expanded services with a new digital collection website experience just for kids. The main MHLS Digital Download Collection now has a separate site to provide a safe and easy browsing experience for kids.

Libraries recognize the need to provide a safe environment for kids to browse library materials. Just as the children’s section of the physical library has its own place, the same experience is now available in the digital collection for kids eBooks and audiobooks. Browsing can be done by subject, reading level or interest level. Check out the Kid’s eReading Room.
