In an effort to serve you better, the Patterson Library is embarking on a long-range plan. As part of this effort, we are collecting information from our residents through June 30. This information along with your thoughts and opinions will help us better serve the Patterson community. Now You Can Borrow Garden Tools!

It’s time to plant the garden! Starting May 16th you will be able to borrow basic garden tools . With a small refundable deposit and your library card, you can borrow rakes, shovels, cultivators, planters, leaf blowers, post-hole diggers and other basic tools to help you with your home gardening projects! Special thanks to the United Way of Westchester & Putnam and Tractor Supply for helping to make this project a reality!

New Computer Lab Allows for Hands On Learning

The new computer lab is up and running! Funded by a New York State Construction Grant, the 15 new laptops will allow for “hands on” computer classes as part of the NYS Digital Literacy curriculum for libraries.  Courses to help people develop skills on computers, ebook readers and smartphones will be offered as part of the Digital Literacy program.

Call The United Way 211 Line for Storm Information

We hope you are all safe and out of Sandy’s way.  The United Way 211 line has local storm information for Westchester and Putnam residents.  You can call United Way’s 2-1-1 or visit www.hudson211.org for storm information. They are open with extended hours for storm related calls.

The Newtown School Supply Drive was a Great Success!

Thank you to everyone for making the Newtown School Supply Drive such a great success. We are grateful to all the people that generously donated, to the Patterson Fire Department for kindly delivering the supplies to Sandy Hook, and to the Sandy Hook Fire Department for handling the distribution. Raffle Winners Give Back to Community

    

Friends helping friends is the way we roll in Patterson! Yarn donated by Antoinette Kopeck for the raffle baskets will be used by the winners for the benefit of others in the area. Irene Mele and Ann Reilly will use the yarn to make items, including baby hats, blankets, and chemo caps, for various local organizations.

The Patterson Library Summer Theater production of “The Wizard of Oz” packed the room, bringing rounds of applause from the audience for our talented,young actors!
