Crochet or Knitting Kit

Loan Period: Twenty-eight (28) Days (renewable up to two (2) times)

Available to: Any person who is 18+ and has an MHLS library card in good standing.

Pick Up/Return: Patterson Library, Circulation Desk

Number of Kits Available: One of each

Kit Contains: Multiple parts that are reviewed at check-out and check-in

Fees: $20 if returned to Book Drop (plus damages), various charges for any missing components

  • Crochet hooks ranging from Size E/3.5mm (smallest) to Size N/10mm (largest)
  • Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle
  • Measuring tape
  • a copy of Crochet for Beginners
  • Carrying cases

Knitting Kit At-A-Glance

Kit Includes:

  • Knitting needles ranging from Size 5/3.75mm/10″ (smallest) to Size 10/6mm/10″ (largest)
  • Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle
  • Measuring tape
  • a copy of Knitting for the Absolute Beginner
  • Carrying cases
Guidelines for Borrowing and Returning
  • Twenty-eight (28) day loan period to a borrower that is 18 years or older with an MHLS library card in good standing.
  • Kits can be renewed twice max. Please call the Library if you’d like to renew.
  • The Kits are checked out and back in, in the same condition they were checked out (all items intact), during business hours at the Patterson Library by a staff member at the Circulation Desk. Kits must be returned to the Patterson Library Circulation desk during business hours. Kits cannot be returned in the Book Drop or left outside the entrance.

What are the Fines and Liability?

  • $20 fee will be charged if the Kit is returned in the Book Drop or outside the entrance of any library.
  • If the items in either kit are damaged, stolen, or lost, the Borrower is charged the replacement cost of that item.

What do you, the Borrower, Need to Provide?

  • Yarn, time, and a willingness to learn

Useful Information

The Library hosts a weekly drop-in Needle Arts Club called Flying Needles that meets every Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM – 12 PM. It’s a great way to meet fellow needle-art enthusiasts and learn from each other. Registration is not required but preferred.
